Marie has a practical and solution orientated approach to HR gained as an outcome of many years' experience since the completion of a post-graduate diploma in HR in 1990. She has been self-employed as an HR Consultant for more than 10 years providing HR and Mediation services to a variety of clients, but previous to this she worked in front-line HR within a sales environment and held a variety of strategic staff development roles at Unilever.
An interest and natural aptitude for dispute resolution led her to become formally accredited as a workplace mediator 2006 and she uses these skills, coupled with a genuine sincerity, to help MHR Manager clients resolve a range of workplace conflicts.
She is also very knowledgeable and interested in UK and European Employment legislation and is passionate about the application of these laws to help clients achieve their objectives, whilst maintaining consistency and fairness in the workplace.
Emma has over 20 years' experience of working as an HR professional and she gained her CIPD Post Graduate qualification and became a Chartered Member of the CIPD in 2003.
Emma has experience of providing commercial and strategic HR, working for a variety of industries including logistics, call centres, retail, recruitment and civil engineering. She develops strong working relationship and works closely with MHR Manager clients’ to ensure the desired outcome is achieved every time.
Emma is personable and warm, demonstrating natural empathy whilst remaining mindful of the commercial requirements of HR. She also has many years’ of experience managing teams and working with all levels of people within organisations to aid the integration of HR to the business.
Emma is an experienced generalist HR Practitioner with a strong focus on Employee Relations.

Emma has experience of providing commercial and strategic HR, working for a variety of industries both in the Private & Public Sector, including Retail, Drinks, Production, Logistics, Local Government and Education.
Emma’s career to date has demanded a high level of customer service and the ability to form effective working relationships with a broad spectrum of people at all levels.
She develops strong working relationship and works closely with MHR Manager small to medium sized clients/businesses to deliver strategic and operational outputs.
Emma uses her strong analytical and communication skills to interpret and explain to others the legal Employment Law framework, which regulates employment. This can involve critically challenging existing procedures and practices in order to continually develop and maintain a high standard of HR service.
Emma is energetic and passionate about HR and strives to show others how HR can contribute to the business strategy.
Lorna is a chartered member of the CIPD, and has gained a wealth of experience within multi-site corporate organisations and SME’s. Lorna’s background has included; student accommodation, engineering and sustainability consultancy’s, estate agency and charities. Lorna has managed various teams over the years and throughout her career has developed strong working relationships with all levels of people.
Furthermore, Lorna has managed comprehensive HR responsibilities including talent acquisition, process improvements, compensation, performance management, succession planning, and employee development. These areas have enhanced productivity and performance within business’s Lorna has worked within.
Due to Lorna’s experience she is able to understand the commercial requirements for business’s and the day-to-day pressures for managers and staff alike. Therefore, Lorna is equipped to provide clear pragmatic HR advice.
